What is Organic Search Marketing?

The primary goal of organic search marketing is to put you on the short list of best answers to a searcher's question.

Search engine marketing is about showing your product, service, or organization as the answer to a searcher's question.  Organic search marketing is focused on the natural results that occur when someone types a query in to the search box.

Search engine listings come two ways: paid and organic. Organic search listings are the free listings that dominate the search engine results page (SERP). In Google, these are the results on the left side of the page that often include local search listings with Google Maps. No one can pay the search engine to have their listing placed in these results.

Paid listings, sponsored results and pay-per-click , are typically on the right sight of the page in a single column as well as a few spots at the top of the page. Anyone willing to pay each time someone clicks their ad can be listed here. Costs can range from a few cents to more than $100 per click. There is no cost per click for organic search listings.

A top search listing provides a great foundation for an effective PPC campaign. As an organic search marketing company Deep Ripples is focused on the natural search process. While we do not offer PPC  services, we can recommend one of our preferred partners to integrate a PPC program with our organic search campaign.

Organic SEM and PPC can be an extremely effective combination for the business able to make a significant investment. For those not able to make a substantial financial commitment to search engine marketing, organic search optimization is the place to start.
